We seek a skilled Senior AI Engineer to design, develop, and optimize advanced solutions in dynamic spectrum access (DSA). This role focuses on AI/ML, GPU acceleration, AWS Cloud, advanced propagation models, and geospatial tools to enhance wireless systems. You’ll work on diverse projects, from developing AI-driven algorithms to deploying GPU-accelerated, scalable solutions for wireless communication and spectrum management. This position reports to our VP, Chief Spectrum Architect.

Your Impact

  • AI & Algorithm Development:
    • Research and develop AI/ML algorithms for spectrum management, RF propagation modeling, and interference mitigation using tools such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Scikit-learn.
    • Optimize AI model training and inference using NVIDIA GPUs to enhance performance on large-scale wireless datasets.
    • Train and deploy deep learning models for interference detection and adaptive spectrum access, leveraging CUDA-based GPU parallelization for faster convergence.
    • Conduct high-performance simulations to evaluate wireless system behavior, model efficiency, and computational trade-offs.
  • Implementation & Deployment:
    • Transition AI-driven algorithms into scalable, Nvidia GPU-optimized microservices on AWS Cloud.
    • Optimize geospatial and RF processing workflows using CUDA-accelerated parallel computing for real-time analysis.
    • Leverage GPU acceleration to improve ray-tracing simulations and RF propagation modeling for wireless system analysis.
    • Participate in code debugging, verification, and deployment of AI-enhanced wireless solutions.
  • System Design and Analysis:
    • Utilize AI-enhanced ray-tracing and GPU-accelerated propagation models to analyze RF performance.
    • Process LIDAR data for geospatial modeling and clutter analysis.
    • Analyze wireless performance data to support network optimization and planning.
  • Testing and Prototyping:
    • Develop CUDA-accelerated prototypes to validate AI-based spectrum management models.
    • Optimize cloud and edge-based deployments, ensuring efficient AI inference on GPU-powered instances. 
  • Collaboration:
    • Work in an Agile environment with cross-functional teams to align AI, spectrum management, and GPU-accelerated computing.
    • Contribute to technical documentation, reporting, and patents.

Your Experience

  • Education:  Master’s or PhD in electrical engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, physics, or a related field
  • Proficient in:
    1. Python for algorithm development, including AI workflows
    2. AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, and TensorRT
  • Exposure to:
    1. RF fundamentals, including antenna modeling, interference analysis, and link budget evaluation
    2. 4G/5G NR technologies such as beamforming, MIMO, OFDM, and TDD/FDD
    3. AWS Cloud services, including EC2, ECS, S3, and Lambda
    4. CUDA-based GPU acceleration for optimizing AI workloads and enabling real-time wireless signal processing

Location

DC or Boston Metro areas. Our maximum flexibility workplace offers mostly remote work with required once monthly in-person attendance in a central location in either DC or Boston for all-hands meetings.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $130,000 to $165,000 and may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, Federated Wireless considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
